During my third year at Abertay University, I had the opportunity to work as the Producer on Sustain, a 3D isometric tower defence game developed in collaboration with publisher Modern Wolf. This project was an incredible experience in managing a multidisciplinary team, navigating production challenges, and working with an industry publisher to help bring our vision to life.
Over the course of 12 weeks, I led a team of eight developers, artists, and designers, ensuring that we stayed aligned, met sprint deadlines, and adapted to feedback from clients. This post dives into my role and the key skills I developed from the experience.
In addition to internal team management, I was responsible for facilitating communication between our team and Modern Wolf, ensuring that publisher feedback was incorporated while maintaining our creative vision. This allowed me to gain hands-on experience communicating with clients as well as making engine builds, preparing our game for milestone submissions and packaging it with comprehensive documentation for delivery to our clients.

Working as a Producer on Sustain gave me a deep understanding of interdisciplinary collaboration and the processes involved in managing a development team. I ensured that our team worked efficiently and collaboratively to meet sprint milestones, overseeing sprint planning, task tracking, and team coordination using tools like Jira, Trello, and Notion to keep everyone aligned.
